WHY SUPERFOODS?

Hippocrates said, "Let food be your medicine.
Let medicine be your food."

Welcome to the world of raw foods and superfoods: the fastest growing segment of today’s health food industry. All over the world, people are beginning to recognize the benefits of these potent plants. As the awakening of human consciousness begins to transform our awareness of ourselves—our feeling body is ready to receive the incredibly high vibration of these nutrient dense, whole foods. When the body receives the nutrients that it is looking for— the cells are freed up to let go of that which no longer feeds them. The cells can then release excess fats and toxins and begin to function at the most optimum level of communication. This is when true vibrancy is realized and old patterns and cravings begin to fall away.

Consuming an abundance of superfoods, organic green vegetables, and herbs are essential for alkalizing the body and achieving optimal health. Superfoods are an excellent way to give your body dense nutrition that creates a foundation for a healthy immune system. Superfoods can be used to make delicious smoothies that can replace any meal, when blended together in combination with other whole foods, fats and minerals.

Superfoods are not a new idea: they have been revered by many ancient civilizations and they have been used for thousands of years by indigenous peoples around the world. It is only in the last decade that these superfoods have made their way into the market place in the U. S. and have become readily available to us.  You can find some of the highest quality superfoods at:

Superfoods are defined by their many unique properties and multiple nutritional components. Because these are whole foods in their natural state, they offer an abundance of synergistic elements that can be understood by the body and fully absorbed because the enzymes are left intact—unlike a chemically isolated supplement, which contain only one single nutrient. Superfoods are alkalizing and detoxifying and support healthy immune system function, bioactivity, endocrine function, brain function, hormone production, and so much more.

Organic, local, fresh vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, and whole grains are also very important in the diet. However, due to the continued depletion of the soil, which has contributed to a decline in the nutrients available in these common foods, they can be used primarily for flavor, fiber, and bulk—not for deep levels of nutrition. These foods do not compare to the nutrient density of superfoods.

Superfoods are true health foods and they offer us a clean, hormone-free, pesticide and chemical free sources of:

1) complete proteins
2) minerals
3) antioxidants
4) good fats and oils
5) essential fatty acids
6) glyconutrients
7) vitamins
8) enzymes
9) coenzymes
10) essential fatty acids
11) polysaccharides

I invite you to begin incorporating superfoods into your diet.
